Angle your hand forward so that follower steps diagonally in front of you for 3 &4. 5, 6 - Push with the heel of your right hand on follower's back so that follower begins to turn clockwise. Almost immediately, put your left hand on follower's left hip and your right hand on follower's right shoulder blade and push to reverse follower's turn.
Follower:
footwork - 1 through 4 - rock step, triple step 5 - step left clockwise 6,7 - pivot counterclockwise on left foot &8 - pickup (right-left) ready for lindy turn or rock step
Do not anticipate this move! The joy of it is feeling your momentum change. Let your back really connect with the leader's hand. Let yourself be open to using the momentum you get. Feel free to play after 5 - after all, the leader did something unexpected so now you show your stuff. Take another whole 8 (with an ear to the music, of course), or a double or triple spin. Why not?
